100% happiness guaranteed this Summer with BARK!
You might remember a blog a few months ago about our first haul of Bark dog toys, well I’m pleased to report they are still going strong except for Brrtha, the ‘rip and reveal’ dragon (rest in peace).
Now once you’ve experienced toys like Bark, the problem we have been faced with is that nothing else really matches up in terms of uniqueness, enrichment and quality, so I was chuffed to bits when Mr Postman dropped off a box of summer themed Bark goodies for the pooches to sink their teeth into.
Sugar is without doubt our most playful of the pack, and she immediately dived in and selected her toy of choice. It was no surprise she was instantly obsessed with the rip and reveal ‘Hambone’. This little piggy came to party and is perfect t for super chewers like Sugar. Once she was finally done ripping her way through the ultra-durable fabric, she was thrilled with her natural rubber toy inside. Hambone took toy time to new heights with the addition of enrichment too, and we had heaps of fun stuffing treats into the snout for Sugar to snuffle, chomp and shake out of it! Yet again a 10/10 toy for sugar, which appeals to her destructive nature, enriches her and leaves her with a long-lasting durable toy to play with all summer long.
Next up is Mr Puggy Smalls. He’s paralysed, deaf and very lazy. He’s never been inclined to play with toys but was very partial to the I-Squeak cone, Sully the Gully and Catfish Claude who came along with us to the beach!
Catfish Claude is so much fun, with treat hiding pockets for snuffling and enrichment, a squeaker and crazy crinkly textures, this beautiful toy is ideal for playtime, brain training and of course snuggling!
The I-Squeak cone is a great toy for dogs of all abilities and play styles. Yes, this is from the super chewer range which isn’t how id describe my gentle Puggy, but this ice cream scented rubber cone was music to Puggy’s nose, and even better with a dollop of peanut butter on top! This squeaky toy has been passed around between the pack since it arrived, it’s SO hard waring and it’s great for fetch with its whacky, erratic bounce movements. It can be frozen to challenge their enrichment, cool them down and has become our toy of the summer!
Next up we have Pommie, our gorgeously fluffy rescue Pom. Her toy of choice was Barkbeards Rum, a bouncy bottle shaped toy stuffed with heaps of fluff, a deep squeaker and wrapped in heavy duty t-shirt rope, which is so much fun for tug! Pirate Pommie nibbles, squeaks, tugs and chases her treasure for hours on end and when all is said and done, she will snuggle up with it for a well-earned nap!
Our final toy we want to mention (for now) is he Go Mango super chewer toy. Although this one is size large, designed for much bigger dogs than our little senior Pops, she has been LOVING it! Firstly, it smells of Candy which is epic for their senses and it’s so hardwearing I think it will be one that lasts forever as it seems virtually indestructible. As the warmer weather kicks in, we have been spreading yoghurt into the Mango grooves and freezing it to cool Pops down and enrich her all at once. When she’s done with it, you best believe Sugar and YumYum swoop in to play a little rougher as they are obsessed with the squeaker.
As always Bark toys have exceeded all my expectations and made it very tricky for any other dog toys to compete. The attention to detail, quality and quirkiness are unrivalled and I’m so pleased my pack have all these goodies to keep them entertained and enriched all summer long!
