One of the most frequently asked questions I get about my pack of pooches is “what do you feed them?”

We have tried countless dog food brands over the years but really struggled to find something high quality that the whole pack enjoy, that suits all their individual needs. First off, we have Pommie, the fussiest floof in the world! Over the years we have tried SO MANY dog food brands, and Pommie will either refuse to eat it, or it will give her a bad tummy. Next up, or gorgeous pugs, Puggy Smalls and YumYum. Before we switched his diet 4 years ago, we struggled with Puggy’s weight. I know it’s a common issue with Pugs, but it made me feel terrible as a dog mum, and I was anxious at every vet check-up as I just couldn’t help him shift the pounds. At the start of this journey, Puggy weighed over 12 kg, and over the years I’m so proud to say he has lost over 4kg and is the perfect weight for his breed and age.

Puggy is 11 years old and he enjoys the specially formatted Wellness CORE low fat dry food combined with the mouth-watering wet food which he adores! We sometimes switch to the fish recipe as its jam packed with Omegas which is great for his mobility and spinal issues, and the small breed kibble is perfect for his little mouth whilst still giving him a cheeky crunch with every chomp!

YumYum is almost four and he’s super active, he is fed the exact same combo as Puggy as it suits them both so well! YumYum is a high energy pooch who has eaten Wellness Core since he was just a pup. We get so many compliments on his lean, muscular body and his gorgeous fur and I give a lot of the credit to his incredible diet.

YumYum favourite is Turkey, Goat and sweet potato wet food mixed with the small breed fish dry food. There are also many single protein wet food varieties available, perfect for dogs with specific protein allergies!

Lastly, Brown Sugar. She has only been with us a year but is the biggest success story thanks to a wholesome diet. She was rescued last October and was nothing but skin and bone. She was worryingly thin with terrible skin and missing patches of fur. But a year later she is the most beautiful, healthy, glossy little sausage you’ve ever seen and she’s a Wellness CORE mega fan, just like the rest of her pack. To begin with, under the advice of a vet, Sugar was fed four small meals per day to help her metabolism after being so malnourished, but after a few months the changes were evident and now she eats the same diet as the pugs, twice daily which makes things so easy for me at mealtimes.

Wellness CORE food is all grain free without any gelling agents or thickeners. With so many vitamins and minerals packed into each meal, it’s a breath of fresh air for me as their owner; to know I’m feeding them a heathy, wholesome diet that they all love so much!
