Muddy season has never looked (of felt) more fabulous!
When Winter rolls around each year, us dog parents understand the struggles of getting out of bed and stepping into the freezing cold mud to walk the pooches.
So let me tell you about Merry People boots, who made my winter walkies a lot more fun, comfy and cosy!
I have four dogs who all love an adventure come rain or shine. Whether it’s our disabled pug, Puggy taking a leisurely plod through the forest, or wild Sugar rampaging through any puddle she can find, getting out and about, even in the rain is a non-negotiable for a dog mum of four.
Having moved from London to the countryside a few years ago, I have been overwhelmed with the different boot options for wet walks and underwhelmed at the lack of style and colour.

I have been testing out two different styles over the past few weeks, the Bobbi ankle boot and the Fergie tall boot and I can honestly say there is no turning back for me now! I adore the range of colours and believe me when I say they are the comfiest boots ive ever worn.
I’m lucky enough to have two pairs of the 100% vegan Bobbi boots, one in slate grey and one in rust and I couldn’t tell you which I like more! They are true to size and feel so comfortable with internal arch support which holds my feet like a glove! Bobbi is the perfect everyday ankle boot and unlike other wellies – they are stylish enough to be worn anytime – not just for those muddy adventures - and the enhanced tread pattern maximises traction so I can keep up with my pack without sliding around in the mud! Perfect for when my days start with a coffee in town and end with a wild walkies in the woods or even at beach, they literally look good with anything and I cannot wait to stock up on a few more colours – in fact I already have my eye on the Sunflower yellow ones to inject some sunshine into these bleak winter days.
They sit just above the ankle and are surprisingly warm with neoprene lining, but what I love about them the most that they are 100% waterproof, so my little tootsies are staying warm and toasty – whatever the weather!
Next up I must mention the Fergie tall boots, amply named after the tallest tree in Australia. Now this is out of my comfort zone and ive never done a tall wellie before as I never found a pair I liked, but the Fergie boot hits different.
I never imagined “feeling myself” in a pair of knee-high wellies walking the dogs, but here I am strutting my stuff with SO many compliments on the beetroot shade and fit. They are a little chunkier in the sole than the Bobbi and they are so comfy and warm, I’m obsessed. The colour is striking, they fit me perfectly and even with a wild Sugar dragging me along in ankle deep mud, I didn’t slip up and my feet and legs stayed dry.
With all the same make up as the Bobbi, including the materials, lining, padding etc… the Fergie does it all whilst keeping your legs dry. I also love that they are adjustable, so I don’t have gaping wellies flapping around my knees in the cold.
If you’re looking for a tall wellie, that’s 100% waterproof, mega comfy, cosy and looks great then trust me when I tell you to RUN to Merry People.
Merry People boots are all made of high-quality natural rubber, and they scrub up like new no matter how muddy you get them. They are quick and easy to clean, I literally hose mine off, let them air dry and store them inside, but there are speciality care kits available if they get exceptionally filthy!
As a dog Mumma who also likes nice things, I cannot recommend these boots enough and I can already feel an itch to add more colour ways and styles to my collection. My husband is also sniffing around at a pair as all styles are unisex and he’s seen first-hand how much I adore mine.
I’ve never felt so prepared to step into winter, whilst feeling good about my footwear options. I feel like the most stylish, well prepared dog mum out there and there’s no more excuses to avoid those cold, rainy walks! I just wish I discovered them sooner!
