Away Resorts – Tattershall Lakes: The perfect holiday park destination for Rock Star pooches and their humans...

Away Resorts have lots of amazing holiday parks and resorts dotted all over the UK, from The Bay Filey in Yorkshire down to St Ives Bay in Cornwall! Away resorts take great pride in their diverse range of luxury lodges, static caravans and parks all situated within areas of natural beauty, often close to historic castles, natural parks and beaches. Each holiday parks has its own unique sense of charm and character, perfect for relaxing or exploring; a romantic retreat or a family getaway!

Puggy was lucky enough to visit Tattershall Lakes Country Park in Lincolnshire. An action-packed, dog-friendly lakeside resort in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside, situated next to RAF Conningsby!

Puggy felt like a VIP (VERY IMPORTANT PUG) from the second he arrived, with super speedy in-car check in and friendly staff who gave us a map of the park and directions to our cabin!

We were lucky enough to stay in one of the super spacious, beautifully designed Rock Star Cabins, and it certainly lived up to its name! There’s parking right outside, a fully fitted kitchen with utensils, crockery, dishwasher, fridge, microwave and heaps more. The open plan living space has massive tv with a sound bar and mega comfy corner sofa! There is a kids bedroom with super fun bunk beds and TVs, and the main bedroom has a massive comfy bed and stylish stand-alone bath with a TV!!!

We were particularly fond of the decked outside area, as we had our own private hot tub which was absolute bliss, as well as tonnes of outdoor space, places for Puggy to do his business and ample outdoor seating – perfect to absorb the golden autumnal sunsets! The double doors open fully onto a decked area with a dog and child safe gate, which is such a nice touch knowing Puggy can get some fresh air without worrying he’s wondered off!

We were provided a little welcome pack, fresh milk in the fridge, spare bedding just in case we got chilly and heaps of fluffy white towels! There are lots of lighting options, so you can set the mood and tonnes of charging points all around with USB ports! Perfect if like us you need to keep phones and cameras charged at all times to capture as many memories as possible!

Once we unpacked and had a cuppa, we headed straight out to explore the resort! There’s so much to see and do, but as a starting point we headed to the centre where there’s a huge pool, spa, gym, shop and even a fish and chip shop!

Dogs must be kept on lead throughout the resort and Puggy had the best time trotting around the lakes, exploring, taking in the views and meeting all the other lucky doggos that were staying here too! We even bumped into a few of Puggy’s followers who all stopped to say hello and take some selfies!

The energy all around the resort was gorgeous. It was such a pleasure to walk around and soak up the atmosphere and watch other families, couples and groups of friends living their best life.

We homed in on the Spitfire bar for our first night for dinner and Puggy was welcomed with open arms by all the attentive and super friendly staff! Most places around the resort are dog friendly with very few exceptions, but it’s all made perfectly clear with signage and doggy water bowls everywhere!

We had a super tasty meal and a drinks in the Spitfire Bar before heading up to a gorgeous dog friendly rooftop bar called Bar 49 to watch the sunset over the lakes. Pure bliss!

After dark, the resort is well lit and clearly signposted, so its mega safe and easy to find your way back to your lodge. We took a slow stroll back to enjoy a quick dip in the hot tub and then enjoyed some much needed downtime with snacks in front of the huge telly and sofa snuggles with Puggy. Although the resort was bustling as we went in half term, the lodge felt so calm and quiet so we were able unwind and relax in style.

After a very peaceful night’s sleep in the huge bed, we decided to get up and get outside to enjoy the facilities! As we were only here for two nights, we didn’t want to waste any time as there so much to see and do!

Tattershall Lakes has jet skis, water sports, pedalos, not to mention the awesome outdoor lido, an indoor pool and a splash pad for the kids.

If you prefer to keep your feet on terra firma, you can enjoy a gym, beach, adventure golf. There’s also a plethora of fun to be had with activities and evening entertainment. From arts and crafts to ziplining and high ropes, there’s something for everyone!

We stopped for a coffee and mooched around all morning, watching the military planes flying by, soaking up the most stunning views on a cold but sunny autumn day. We grabbed a quick lunch at The Spitfire as we just HAD to try their burgers which certainly did not dissapoint. We were so full that we spent some time walking off the lunch, then jumped on a Pedalo (which are dog friendly!!!) for a little fun on the lakes!

We stopped by the arcade for some old school fun and decided to head back to the cabin to enjoy the sunset from the ultimate bliss of our own private hot tub!

For dinner we decided to get fish and chips from Catch 22 and sat outside to eat in one of the heated outdoor areas. Puggy was super exhausted after all todays adventures, so we headed back via the shop and enjoyed some drinks at our Cabin.

Of course I had to make the most of the bath with a tv, so I watched a movie from there and caught up on social media (which was easy to with free WIFI available).

We had breakfast in the lodge with some tasty goodies we purchased from the Away Resorts on-site store the previous day, then reluctantly made our way home, wishing we could have stayed much longer!

All in all Tattershall lakes is a magical place to visit. We found our trip to be relaxing, exciting and restorative all at once and would wholly recommend it to anyone we know – especially if you have pooches!

Puggy had the time of his life and it was a real pleasure to see him so happy and engaged! If you’re looking for a wholesome break that is dog friendly and suitable for everyone – then look no further, Away Resorts is the answer!
